A few years, community college, an internship at Disney, my bachelors degree, a beautiful wife, and countless console systems (and PC upgrades) later, I am now a video game Producer. I have worked primarily on children's games thus far in the industry with no plans of stopping soon. I have led teams as small as 5 and as large as 35 with experience in Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, iPhone, and PC. I have worked on games for different publishers such as Ubisoft, THQ, and Paramount. I am currently a Producer for Hairy Entertainment in Atlanta, Ga. I produce a game called Xeko (www.xeko.com). It is a browser-based MMO for kids that aims to empower kids to do good around the world by playing video games. The last year alone, Xeko has empowered kids to build houses and villages, send terminally ill children to Walt Disney World for a dream vacation, send laptops to young patients of Nationwide Children's Hospital, adopted a polar bear, and are currently in the process of reaching a goal to purchase ten camera traps to ensure the safety of Tigers in China (www.wildaid.org).
As this blog travels on, I will be writing about many different things. I may review a new or old game, write about my insight into the gaming industry, tips on how to break in, innovative gameplay, and entertaining the one thing that keeps nerds like me going: what's coming next! I would also like to answer all the questions you may have on anything as it relates to video games. If you ever have a comment about what I write, I encourage you to submit it, even if you disagree. Just keep it clean and respectful.
My next entry will be coming shortly. In the meantime, I would like to know a little bit more about my readers. What is the first game that you can ever remember playing?
